about BERING

BERING is an international collective operating in architecture and urban design. Pursuing a theoretical and built approach, we aim to capture the complexity and the paradoxical nature of living on earth today and contribute to making it habitable and desirable.
We believe a multi-disciplinary approach embracing various points of view offers a clear cognitive framework to solve complex, diversified problems. Our collective consists of architects, engineers, geographers, social anthropologists and scholars. The diversity of our membership gives us an ability to see technical specifications and analytical understanding from a broad, eclectic understanding influencing the originality of our projects.

BERING constantly wishes to establish a continuing, intertwined dialogue between landscape, society and architecture. Our interest is directed to an architecture generated by its context, embodied in the landscape, itself becoming part of the life cycle of the place.

BERING was created by people meeting and growing in Studio of Bernardo Secchi and Paola Viganò. It began in 2015 by participating in various international competitions. Since 2018 it has had a permanent home in Milan, realizing projects in Italy, France and Belgium.
